Since January, Teresa’s Mexican Mercado located on Main Street in Isanti has been providng the area with Mexican foods, snacks and specialty items.
The store is owned by Teresa Garcia, who also operates Teresa’s Authentic Mexican Kitchen at the Isanti County Fair and other local events.
“I love to cook, and so often it’s hard to find everything a person needs for authentic Mexican dishes in the area,” said Garcia. “I’m so excited to open this store, and I hope this will be a good source for people who are looking for truly authentic Mexican items.”
The store features a wide variety of canned goods, convenience items, drinks, authentic Mexican corn flour, Mexican pork sausage, specialty yogurts and even La Perla tortillas that are made in Minnesota and come fresh from the maker.
Garcia has a wide variety of fresh produce which includes jalapenos, tomatillos, sorano peppers, limes and mangos.
“We’re not set up to provide prepared meals at this time,” said Garcia, “but I hope in the near future that we’ll have something you can grab quickly and warm up for lunch or dinner.”
