The plaque outside Elim Baptist Church reads:
And they came to Elim...
Elim began as a Swedish Free Mission Church in Athens Township in the late 1800's. It was reorganized in November 1922 as Elim Baptist Church at its current location in Isanti.
Elim's name is based on Exodus 15:27. For the people of Israel, Elim was a place to be refreshed and strengthened. For 88+ years Elim has served a s place of spiritual refreshment and strengthening for people in this community. In addition to worship services, children's and youth programs, and ministries for men and women - Elim distributes food for Ruby's Pantry the third Saturday of each month and also serves as a host church for New Pathways/IHN.
Ryan O'Leary joined the staff as senior pastor in December 2008. He and his wife, Kristen, have three small sons. Ryan loves hockey and ice cream cake from the DQ! Peter Talbot has been Elim's associate pastor since 2001. He and his wife, Marcia, also have three children. Peter loves camping, fishing, bow-hunting...anything outdoors!
Elim is located at 114 N. Dahlin Avenue, in Isanti. Sunday worship and Kids' Time are at 9:30 am. All are welcome! Vacation Bible School will be held August 15-19, from 6-8:30pm for children age 3-completed grade 5. Awana, Adventure Club, Junion and Senior High Youth Groups will resume in the fall.
